This series of rondelets was inspired by

Allison Byxbe
‘s month of April theme, hope, in the Inky Collective journaling community.

A hike up Stone Mountain, during spring break. The varied green of the treetops was a treat for my eyes.

Lyric VII - Ever-Increasing Glory

We're climbing high
majestic views our catalyst
We're climbing high
At start, we're full of strength and life,
midway, we slow, we take a rest,
bread, water, then advance to crest.
We're climbing high

I set up a new hummingbird feeder - a HummZinger - during spring break. It took a few days for the birdies to begin visiting. The clip above includes a hummingbird quarrel. If you turn the volume up and listen carefully, you can hear them chirping at each other off camera.

Lyric VIII - (S)he Saw It, and Was Glad

So swift and stealth,
you swoop beneath, hover a-buzz.
So swift and stealth,
you perch, insert your needle mouth.
With thread of tongue, you bob and guzzle,
drink up nectar, then back to hustle.
So swift and stealth.
