Sonnet 2.VII - To the Ocean, or Bust
Another sonnet about the ocean, in Shakesperean rhyme scheme.
Article voiceover
I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied... -- John Masefield, "Sea-Fever"
I must go down to the ocean again. Umbrella and towels in hand, I'll hike across the boardwalk, over shrubby sand - a sea-turtle playground is this wide dike. I must go down to the ocean once more to feel a warm breeze and smell salty air. At Tybee beach, watch the waves stir the shore and feel the hot, gaping, ocean sun blare. I must go down to the ocean today taste the salt on my lips, feel the waves lift, and watch the seagulls dive, the dolphins play, and feel the breaking spume, over feet, drift. I must go down to the ocean; I must. It's here I find relief from wanderlust.
